Completing your claim form

  • It is important that before you make a claim, you check your policy details to confirm that you are covered for whatever you are claiming for.  If you need any assistance, please contact us on (01) 269 6522 to discuss your claim, review your cover or confirm your policy benefit entitlements.
  • Your claim form must be completed by your medical professional who may charge you for this service. Please note that you will be responsible for any expenses incurred in having a medical professional fill out the claim form. These fees are not covered under your claim. Before you incur any expense, we strongly recommend that you carefully examine what is covered on your policy before you see your medical professional. Alternatively you can call our customer service team on (01) 269 6522 to confirm your cover.
  • The claim form should be completed and returned to the address stated at the bottom of the claim form within the time period specified in the terms and conditions of the policy. Failure to do so could mean that we will be unable to accept your claim. We will only consider your claim once we have received your fully completed form. You will be issued with a claim number when we receive your completed claim form.

How we will handle your claim

  • A claim form can take approximately 15 to 20 working days to process.
  • We will aim to respond to you within 10 working days of receipt of your completed claim form.
  • During our handling of your claim, it may be necessary for a Claims Assessor to visit you in connection with your claim. We visit thousands of claimants every year as part of our claims service. Our Claims Assessors can guide you through the claims process and will always carry identification.
  • We will keep you informed should we find it necessary to obtain additional medical information or any other information to assist us in our handling of your claim. It may be necessary for us to arrange for you to attend an independent medical examination. In this event, we will do our best to arrange for the independent medical examination to take place close to where you live.

Medical fees

There are certain costs that may be incurred by you when you are completing your claim forms.

  1. Your medical practitioner may charge you a fee for completing the claim form.
  2. You may be required to undergo certain medical examinations in order for your claim to be validated. Your medical practitioner may charge for this service.

These fees are not covered under your claim. Before you incur any expense, we strongly recommend that you carefully examine what is covered on your policy before you see your medical professional.

False or exaggerated claims

We want to keep down the cost of insurance for everyone, so whilst we aim to pay all genuine claims in full, we make careful checks to identify false or exaggerated claims. We exchange information with other insurers and the Irish Insurance Federation and take other measures to prevent fraud.  Making a false or exaggerated claim can lead to prosecution.
