Five months ago I suffered a herniated disc.  I started on steroid treatment and physiotherapy to relieve the pain but decided to use BD to get a second opinion.  The staff at BD were fantastic.  They went to the trouble of explaining everything very carefully to me and were extremely polite.  They remembered all the details of my case when I phoned and were so helpful.  The report I received back was great and very easy to read.  It suggested I undergo surgery to remove part of the disc.  I continued with the physio and steroid treatment but after a while it became clear this was not going to solve my problems.  The best option was the one suggested by BD in the first place.  I was very pleased with BD.  Their advice was spot on and I can't say enough nice things about them.  I would definitely use them again.

I contacted BD as I wanted a second opinion on the state of my health, just to be on the safe side.  The woman I spoke to at BD was very good: thorough and very pleasant to talk to.  The report I received was full of information and gave me more detail than I received from my own doctor.  If more people knew about the BD's service, more people would use it and I think that would be a good thing.

I felt I had been given two conflicting pieces of information from my local hospital regarding my medical condition.  This left me feeling confused and misinformed.  I decided to use the BD IC service.  From start to finish the BD service was fantastic.  I was allocated a case manager, who kept me informed of every point in the process such as retrieving my medical records and contacting a leading specialist etc.  The service was completely supportive and I was delighted with the information that I received from BD.  The report that came to me from the specialist was extremely comprehensive and so easy to understand - it was written to me in lay mans terms which meant that it was of great value to me.  I was able to understand my condition completely.  I also was given the contact details of specialists that were local to me that were able to treat my medical condition.  All of this information was empowering to me.  I felt more in control as I had better understanding of the situation.
